2026 MOUNTAIN GLORY CHALLENGE 5K
Run, Read & Dress Up!
Friends of the Library invites you to bring your favorite stories to life!
This 5K is organized in collaboration with Friends of the Library to celebrate reading, imagination, and community while supporting literacy and educational programs in McDowell County.
All registered runners will receive an official race T-shirt, but we also invite you to make the race even more fun by dressing up as your favorite book character!
Run as Harry Potter, the Cat in the Hat, a superhero from your favorite graphic novel—or any literary character you love. Get creative and have fun!
Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes!
Come run for a great cause, celebrate your favorite stories, and help us support literacy in our community—one step and one page at a time!
Runners and walkers can either pay on the day of the event or register and pay online.
