Fire up the holiday spirit and run this Santa 5k in Asheville while supporting the Asheville High School and Middle School band programs!

Run our Santa 5k in Asheville! This is a fundraiser for the Asheville High School and Middle School band programs.

Every December, the streets of South French Broad area of Asheville, North Carolina, come alive with the festive energy of the Sock It to Me Santa 5K race. It’s more than just a race; it’s a celebration of community and holiday cheer, all for a good cause. As participants lace up their running shoes, they know they’re not just embarking on a challenging 5K course; they’re supporting the music education programs at Asheville High School, Middle School, and Montford North Star Academy. The event kicks off with the infectious rhythms of the Asheville High Band and drum line, setting the tone for a spirited morning of running, laughter, and camaraderie.

The course, though demanding, offers glimpses of Asheville’s scenic beauty, from views of the French Broad River, to the artsy River Arts District to historic South French Broad neighborhood. Crossing the finish line isn’t just a personal victory; it’s a collective triumph for the bands whose melodies echo through the streets. As participants gather at the finish line, exchanging stories of their journey, they’re reminded that the spirit of giving and togetherness is what truly makes the Sock It to Me Santa 5K race an unforgettable experience.

Start Times for the Snowflake Chaser Fun Run and the Santa 5k in Asheville

We have a rolling starting times every 10 mins. Simply choose your time during registration.

• 8:30 am – Snowflake Chaser 1M fun run begins
• 9:00 am – 5k Starts (chip timed)

All runners will receive the following:

• a custom knit hat or t-shirt (you choose)
• a custom race bib
• a chip timed race

Awards for the Santa 5k in Asheville:

Top 3 male and female as well as the 1st place Masters and Grand Masters runners will receive a gift certificate from our friends at Jus Running!

Costume Awards:

We will be awarding our favorite costumed runners gift certificates. Any holiday attire will be in the running. Prize details TBD.

Snowflake Chaser Awards:

All kids will receive a finisher award.

Middle of the Pack Awards:

The runner that falls directly in the middle of the running field will receive our MOP (Middle of the Pack) award. Prize details TBD.
